There’s Something About a Wedding

Yesterday I went to my cousin Dustin’s wedding, and this was something I have been excited about for a long time now. His wife Stephanie (so weird that I can call her his wife now, but also cool) is someone who I’m so happy to add to our family, and she has been incredibly kind and shown a real interest in getting to know me since she first met me. I haven’t been to a wedding since I was too young to really remember it, and I’m so glad I was able to come celebrate the two of them this weekend.

They got married at The Wilds, and the venue was beautiful. The weather was also perfect, which is something I was not anticipating since I thought it would still be cold. The ceremony was very sweet, and perfectly captured the two of them and how much they laugh when they’re together. I learned a lot from them about what I would want for my own wedding when that time comes.

There were many sweet speeches and dances, Dustin’s dance with his Mom honestly warrants its own blog post, and it was very nice to get to see some people who I hadn’t seen in a long time. I usually only get to see my extended family for Thanksgiving and Christmas, and I’m so happy we got this additional time together for such a special occasion.

My family are truly some of my biggest supporters, and even though we can’t always be there physically for each other I know they are proud of me and everything I do. This was reflected in the wedding as well, and we were all so happy to be there with each other to support Dustin and Stephanie in this new chapter of their lives.

I know my grandma in particular was very excited because this is the first of her grandkids to get married. I have no clue who to expect to get married next, but I don’t think it’ll be any of the Brockman kids. I am so thankful to have a family who loves and supports each other so much, even though we also love to poke fun at each other a lot too.

Dancing with all of them and catching up gave me some memories I’ll never forget, and while Luke didn’t actually dance we tried to get my brother on the dance floor several times. Even outside of my family, I’m excited for going to more weddings in the future. There’s just something about the atmosphere being so full of love that puts you in such a good mood and creates such a fun time celebrating the people you care about. So here’s a virtual toast to Dustin and Stephanie, I love you both so much and I’m so excited that you’re officially married. You two have truly given me such a good example of what I hope to find in a relationship for myself, and I had so much fun getting to celebrate you.
